The 8th Grade Broadway & Arts Field Trip is tentatively set for 5/26-5/30. Sign up on the website of Smithsonian Travel. When you sign up, you can put down a deposit and pay the rest in installments. As we get closer to the date, the price increases, so it is best to sign up now rather than later. The cost is about $1,915. So far we have 39 students signed up (as of 12/08).

Hello Everyone,

I'm trying to arrange another parent meeting with Smithsonian Student Travel, but it's taking a while. Their area rep has left the company. So in the meantime, I'll provide the link to the Smithsonian Student Travel website so you can take a look at our trip.

The March meeting of FOHA will be Wednesday March 2 at 7pm at the home of Cyndi & Alex Menegaz.

Ms. Federico could use some parent volunteers in class next week, December 14 to 16. The kids will be working on their Multi-Genre Scrapbooks. As you may know, the students have been researching a non-fiction topic for the last month and doing various pieces of writing on that topic. This is the accompanying scrapbook.

We are looking for FOHA Board Members for 2010-2011! The parents who started FOHA are leaving the school and it's time to turn over the reins. If you attend meetings and/or want to be involved, please consider a board position. We have a total of 21 positions.

Studies have shown that students whose parents have been actively involved in their education do better in their studies and have a greater sense of pride in their work. Please join us in our ongoing work on behalf of all Humanities Academy kids.
