CLARICE CHAPLIN MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The 31st District PTSA is proud to offer scholarships to students that wish to continue
their music study with private teachers.
Each scholarship offered is valued at $400
CATEGORIES: Voice and for Standard Instruments: Stringed, Wind, Brass, Percussion, Piano
It is our goal to encourage the discovery and development of musical talent throughout our youth. We wish to inspire children to follow their passion for the arts at any level of study and assist those that may not have an opportunity to study privately.
LAST MINUTE REQUEST FROM MS. GOLD: TIME SENSITIVE!
There are 3 trips to the Getty Villa planned this spring for the 6th grade that require "trained chaperones". The training is THIS Saturday January 21 from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. We know, it's super-last-minute! But imagine being alone in the gorgeous Getty Villa in Malibu when it's mostly EMPTY receiving a private docent lesson with a small group of people? Imagine spending the morning in the solitude of an ancient villa overlooking the gorgeous Pacific Ocean? Kinda takes the sting out of getting up early, huh?
Dear Parents,
Walter Reed Middle School is proud to be participating in DonorschooseLA.org in partnership with the Wasserman Foundation. Reed Middle School has received FREE $15 DonorsChooseLA gift cards to fund classroom projects, which we will distribute in a variety of ways. We plan to start the distribution process on Wednesday, December 14th after all the teachers have had an opportunity to post up their projects online.

We are streamlining our field trip process and zeroing on potential dates. The 6th graders can expect an art/theater experience and a science adventure. Specifics are being worked out & we'll have events & dates soon. An afternoon spent playing with with the works of William Shakespeare is in store for the 7th graders and many of the 8th graders are looking forward to their Annual New York trip in the spring with maybe another surprise or two.
Attached please find the approved minutes from our December meeting. Happy Holidays!
